Microneedling also known as Collagen Induction Therapy and Skin Needling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure which involves hundreds of tiny, sterile needles in a small cartridge or roller puncturing the skin to stimulate a natural production of healthy collagen. We create a controlled injury within the skin and the skin does what it does best, it responds by kick starting the wound healing process.

No matter which method of “Microneedling” is used, the concept is the same – microscopic needles are moved over the skin at a chosen depth creating tiny punctures in the skin to stimulate the skins own healing response. Whether you have had the manual roller or the Raffine pen using a cartridge of clustered needles, then the skin’s response to is the same.

As the needles penetrate the skin they produce tiny microscopic traumas. This treatment stimulates the skin to regenerate and repair itself safely and naturally, stimulating the production of collagen and elastin, creating smoother, brighter, healthier, younger-looking skin. Your skin is absorbing topical serums and creams thousands of times more than it normally does. What follows is a distinct number of phases to bring about fantastic physical changes to the skin.

Haematosis – Can last up to 15 minutes
This is the first instant stage. The needles penetrate the skin and create punctures. The blood components fill the area. The damages tissues begin to constrict to stop blood flow, the tissue begins to clot. White blood cells (leucocytes) flow to the area and begin cleansing the area looking for bacteria and infection. The tiny punctures created begin to close by approximately 3-5 minutes.

Inflammation – Can last 15 minutes to day 3
Erythema similar to mild/moderate sunburn is present for 1-3 days. There maybe minor swelling. Growth Factors are secreted from the macrophages and initiate the wound healing process. White Blood cells (Neutrophils) migrate to the area and begin killing invading microbes.

Proliferation (Regeneration) – Can last from day 4 to day 20
The skin begins to regenerate. New cell formation begins. Fibroblasts release collagen. New blood vessels form (angiogenesis) and provide nutrition and oxygen to the tissue and microscopic blood vessels start to fill the puncture. Epithelialisation occurs, cells migrate to form a barrier between the punctures and the environment.

Remodelling (Final stage) From day 21 up to 12 months or more
Clients start to see visible changes. Fibroblasts continue to remodel and organise within the dermis, secreting collagen to strengthen the skin. The weaker collagen (type 3) which was produced in the Proliferation stage is now stronger (type 1). Epidermal cells grow over connective tissue.

Dermaplaning is the controlled scrapping of the skin using a sterile, surgical blade for the removal of skins cells and vellous hair. It immediately rejuvenates the skin by removing the outermost layer of dead skin cells and vellous hair. It is also highly effective in minimising the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars whilst leaving the skin smooth, supple and vibrant. It is also great for prepping the skin prior to peels, enzyme treatments and to increase penetration of active ingredients in professional and home care products. It creates the perfect canvas for makeup applications and is the go-to treatment for high profile occasions.

It is a super effective exfoliating treatment in which an aesthetician uses a surgical scalpel to gently smooth off any dead skin cells on the surface of your skin and (along with the peach fuzz on your face). You might be wondering “Why is this necessary?” It's because the buildup of dead skin and hairs can make your complexion appear dull, flaky, and can even cause breakouts due to clogged pores and hair follicles. This form of mechanical exfoliation is essential for maintaining an even, healthy glow. The treatment also increases product absorption by up to 60% so if your following a good home care regime with the correct products, this will also benefit your skin and really combine both.

Thinking of making an appointment to try Dermaplaning for yourself? Read the information below.

1. Dermaplaning is recommended for all skin types. Clients with sun damage, fine lines, very dry skin and dull skin are great candidates. However, since the procedure requires use of a sharp scalpel, those with active acne or active rosacea should pass on it until their complexion calms down.

2. Contrary to what you might think, Dermaplaning will not make your hair grow back thicker or darker. We assure you that once your hair begins to grow back it might feel different because the hair was cut straight across, but it's actually the same texture as before and grows at the same speed. It also just might seem thicker because the hair was bluntly cut by the blade versus having a natural point to it.

3. There's no downtime. Some light redness can be expected but not always. It's perfectly fine and common to make an appointment during lunch and go right back to work after the treatment.

4. You'll need to be diligent with SPF afterward. You should always wear sun protection every day — especially when you're outside for a prolonged period of time — but post-exfoliation your skin is especially susceptible to the sun. So, if you don't take sun protection seriously, you might want to skip this sloughing treatment.

5.It will change your life as far as makeup application goes. Ever notice how peach fuzz tends to stand out even more underneath foundation and face powders? Well, since the Dermaplaning blade removes all the little hairs on your face, your makeup will go on super smoothly. Your skincare products will also be more effective, since the product isn't being blocked by dead skin cells and can penetrate the skin faster.

6. The results can last up to four weeks. The procedure removes three weeks of dead skin cells, so your glow will last all month long. If you choose the Luxury treatment, you will get to take one of our specific targeted masks home with you which will last approx 3/4 weeks or at least until your next treatment if this is something you want to maintain!

The chemical peel is one of the oldest cosmetic procedures in the world. Today chemical peels are among the most popular and widely recognised methods of improving the health and appearance of the skin by removing dead skin cells and encouraging new ones to grow. Chemical peel depth can range from very superficial to deep although several light depth peels can often achieve similar results to one deeper peel treatment but with much less risk and shorter recovery time.

The superficial peels contain a mixture of Glycolic, Lactic and Salicylic Acids to remove the upper layers of the epidermis encouraging regeneration and rejuvenation of new skin cells. The result is the improved clinical appearance of the skin with fewer fine lines, a brighter complexion, improved skin tone and a more youthful appearance. They are extremely well tolerated by the skin with minimum side effects.

The Dual Injector Pro+ combines the latest in Radio Frequency skin lifting/tightening with the transdermal delivery of active substances (needle free mesotherapy).

The combination of Radio Frequency lifting and Electroporation technology enables the active compounds applied to easily penetrate deeper into the skin, giving instant and visible results. This is achieved through the unique dual technology (RF + Electroporation) which lifts the skin and pushes nutrients deep into the skin without breaking the skin as with traditional injections.

How does the technology work?
The Dual Injector Pro+ allows the delivery of substances deep into the skin, which are otherwise not absorbed into the skin because of the typology and dimension of their molecules. RF+Electroporation technology makes the skin tissues permeable to macromolecules, in a non-invasive way by utilising the skin's water based channels to allow the ingredients to penetrate due to controlled RF and magnetic pulses delivered to the client/patient. This is an effective and safe procedure.

What is RF?
Radio Frequency lifting is ideal for non-surgical and non-invasive skin rejuvenation. The radio waves are effective in fighting against the drooping of the skin. Specifically, RF facilitates the attribution of oxygen in the tissues, activates cell metabolism, contributes to the excretion of catabolic residues and stimulates collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid formation in the skin. The body's physiological response to the radio waves is progressively and naturally tightened skin.

Indications for RF lifting:

• Sagging facial skin • Fine lines and wrinkles • Hyperpigmentation

What is Electroporation?
An electromagnetical pulse temporarily disrupts skins intercellular electrical connections so that applied therapeutic substances and preparations can be absorbed deep into the skin layers non-invasively. Active substances, like hyaluronic acid, vitamins, antioxidants and other substances can therefore penetrate the skin without the need for traditional injections. As a result, a double effect can be achieved: wrinkle smoothing and skin tightening.

Indications for electroporation:

• Ageing and sagging skin • Fine lines and wrinkles • Inflamed skin • Scaly and dry skin • Oily skin

• The result is smooth, tightened and lifted skin • Evens out skin tone and refreshes the complexion • Greatly reduces fine lines and wrinkles • Firms sagging skin • Reduces puffiness around the eye area
